Santa Fe Dreamers Project offers citizenship legal services for qualified permanent residents living in New Mexico, regardless of criminal history or immigration history.
Immigrants who have had their legal permanent resident status (green card) for 5 years may be eligible to apply for US citizenship. People who are married to US citizens might be eligible to apply after being a permanent resident for 3 years instead of 5. Most applicants need to be able to pass an English Language exam as well as a U.S. Civics test to be eligible, although there are exceptions based on age and medical conditions.
