Novela Salazar - President

Novela Salazar became General Counsel for the New Mexico Tourism Department in the spring of 2023. Shortly after her graduation from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2017, Novela began working for the New Mexico Attorney General's Office where she served as Director for the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo and Advocacy and Intervention Divisions. Both in and outside of the office, Novela has shown a long-standing commitment to immigrants and underserved populations. Born and raised in New Mexico, Novela uses her skills to provide public service to those New Mexican communities.

Krista Garcia - Vice President

Krista started her career as a state prosecutor before opening her own firm Power Legal LLC. Power Legal is a criminal defense and family law firm dedicated to ensuring its clients have competent representation protecting their personal freedom and their connections with their children. While Krista is based in Albuquerque, her clients reach across the state of New Mexico and her experience across the globe. Krista received her law degree from University of  New Mexico School of Law but also studied law in Madrid, Spain and Nuremberg, Germany. Krista was a legal observer is Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and was the only American to work at the United Nations Mechanism for the International Criminal Tribunal in the Hague, The Netherlands. Krista is excited to contribute and serve the Santa Fe Dreamer Project's mission and community. 

Matthew Carrasco-Trujillo - Treasurer

A Santa Fe native, Matthew attended Pepperdine University where he received his undergraduate degree in Business.  Matthew later earned an Accounting Certificate from CNM, along with a 4 year CPA from State of New Mexico. He is currently the CFO of Santa Maria El Mirador, a non-profit organization providing assisted living facilities for intellectually challenged.  He is also the Treasurer of the Board of New Mexico Health Care Workers Compensation Association. 

Tim Schollenberger - Secretary

Tim Schollenberger grew up on the east coast in central New Jersey, before moving to northern Colorado for college, and ending up in New Mexico, where he currently lives with his wife and two dogs. Tim has degrees in mechanical and manufacturing engineering, which he has used in support of manufacturing activities in northern and central NM. Tim became involved with SFDP through his wife's volunteer work, and hopes to be able to contribute in meaningful ways through his work on the board.

Alenka Arvizo - Member

Alenka Arvizo is a first-generation Latina who was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. Alenka has been passionate about social justice, which led to her pursuing a B.S in Criminal Justice. After completing her bachelor’s degree Alenka began working in non-profits, becoming a victim advocate for a domestic violence organization. She is currently employed at NM Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice as a bilingual case manager assisting people nationwide to receive reproductive healthcare. She continues to develop her skills and is at present working on her certification to be a full-spectrum doula. Alenka is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and thrives on working on inclusivity across any platform of social justice.
